Our North American Roots
The first veneer operation began in Durham, Ontario where Interforest's original parent company saw enormous potential in local natural resources. The company purchased the Durham plant from Abitibi Paper Company Ltd. in the early 1970s. Since then, global demand for both fine veneers and lumber has soared for the company's North American divisions.

Building market strengths through quality
A major challenge for the Durham-based company was to transform a local plant into a worldwide operation capable of turning out veneers of superior quality for the furniture, plywood, and woodworking industries. Interforest and its divisions in both Canada and the United States have considerable latitude and autonomy in the way they manage their businesses and sell their products. That independence has been a driving force in helping Interforest achieve dominance in its markets.

Basis for tomorrow's success
Regarded as a global leader in the industry, Interforest combines technology with innovative marketing and production skills in all its operations. The company invests heavily in both people and quality. It's a process that begins with buying the best logs available and using advanced production processes to turn out veneers and lumber to meet increasing demand.
